Many believe the “forecourt of the future” will be driven by virtualization and cloud-based technology, made possible by coupling legacy devices, such as fuel dispensers, with the latest edge technology.

But the challenges are non-trivial. 

If virtualization of the forecourt was easy, somebody would have done it by now.

A recent article in NACS Magazine touched on these challenges and includes thoughts by Allied’s head of engineering Akhil Padala and strategic account manager Bob Danford.
