GasBuddy's Storm Surge
In the midst of widespread power outages, Floridians continue to rely on their smart phones for pertinent information "“ from weather updates to the wellbeing of family and friends. Folks also use their phones to seek out critical resources including fuel, especially as supplies become extremely limited.
Allied's integration partner, GasBuddy, saw its popular app downloaded nearly a million times since Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas, including another unprecedented jump when Hurricane Irma struck "“ essentially placing the company at the forefront of a virtual relief effort. The app not only seeks out the cheapest gas, but available gas in petroleum-choked regions.
In other areas of the country, GasBuddy has been integrated with the NeXGen Forecourt Controller to provide price per gallon discounts whenever the app is used.
